What sitting all day does to your body

The book names seven patterns. Pick the one you feel most often: its page has the free reset, why sitting causes it, and when to see a doctor.

Let the body check choose

The 30-second body check asks three questions: what bothers you most, how long you sit, and what you want right now. You get the 3-minute video made for it. No sign-up, and your answers stay on your device.

Three habits for every desk worker

Whatever your pattern, these work underneath it. In the book’s words:

1

Movement Snacks

Brief, intentional moments of activity designed to break the spell of stillness and nourish your body throughout the day.

Rule of thumb: consistency beats intensity. Aim for a two-minute Movement Snack every half hour.

2

Dynamic sitting

The enemy is not sitting itself, but rigid, static sitting. Dynamic sitting is the art of infusing subtle, constant motion into your seated time.

The key: good posture is not holding one “perfect” position. It is creating a supportive environment and frequently returning to a neutral alignment.

3

The Anchor: box breathing

For calm focus in the moment. Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of 4, hold for 4, exhale slowly through your mouth for 4, hold for 4. Repeat the cycle several times.

Coach’s cue: breathe low into a soft belly. If you feel dizzy, shorten the counts or stop.

Break the Stillness Trap

All seven in one book

Break the Stillness Trap explains each pattern, gives you a Movement Combo for it, and adds the Mind Resets, the Fuel Resets and a 4-week plan that makes it automatic. Built on 84 cited sources.
